  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

This is a video of how it sounds

Hi a friend of mine sent me this video of a ticking noise coming from there engine also there cluster gauge no longer lights up she has brought it to a couple mechanics they weren't able to get anything of the scan tool one suggested it could be the lifters but they were unsure unless they start doing a deep dive into the engine, Her next stop will be to bring it to the genesis dealership to see if they can pinpoint what it could be, but any help would be greatly appreciated, Sorry if i posted this multiple times wasn't my intention, thanks.

That noise combined with the dead dash lights points to an electrical issue, not engine lifters. The most common cause is a weak battery or a bad connection. Have the battery tested first before taking it in.

The 3.3 has solid lifters which by design can be a bit noisy. The engine compartment is well insulated and sealed off so most people would not notice it. I admit I have never noticed it though.

My 2019 G70 3.3T occasionally ticks when started, but it goes away after a minute or so. It has done that since new.

Enjoy,
