  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I had started to notice oil "sweating" at the spot where the timing cover meets the cylinder head and block a month ago.
Lately, it has started to get progressively worse on the driver's side to the point where after clean up, the oil will trickle down the side almost reaching the oil pan in a week. I have a feeling it will only get worse.

It is not a simple DIY job as it involves removal of oil sump, which in-turn requires raising up the engine and removal of all the associated mounts, cooling and induction hoses prior to removal of the timing cover.

The dealership hinted the cost as labor "upwards from" CAD 1400 + Diagnosis CAD 150 + spares + consumables + Tax.

If you have a 2.0 and notice something similar, get it done while the vehicle is still under warranty.
