  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I would like to paint match the grill/grills of the car. Can someone offer any advice?

Thanks in advance.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I had mine painted 9000 miles ago by a local auto dealer's paint shop. There was no problem with color match as my Genesis is black. They did a marvelous job for $193. I had a clear bra installed, but the kit did not include covering for the grill; and to my knowledge there is no clear bra kit available which includes the grill.
Most of my miles have been highway miles, including travel through a sandstorm in Texas. There has been some minor paint chipping, which I have covered with touch up paint.
I speculate that Hyundai uses this one-color grill as a cost savings device; and that the oem silver finish is much more robust than an aftermarket paint.
I see a listing on eBay for a "chrome" grill at a reasonable price. In theory a chrome finish can hold up very well, provided it is high quality.

Thanks for the insight Rey! I was going to try to have a go at doing it myself, but for less than $200 I may just have someone else do it.

Do it yourself if you are mechanically inclined it's pretty easy, but you have to remove the bumper:

its fairly easy to do but yes you do have to remove your grill , i did mines (sterling blue) & chris green who is a member on here ( white Genesis), i believe i have pics on here posted, good luck

I did mine but I didn't do a very good job. I got a used grill on Ebay for $25 which was a good idea.

I got everything to do the job from Automotivetouchup.com (adhesive promoter, primer, base color paint, clear coat, assorted wet sandpaper, automotive masking tap, and tack cloth). It will cost you about $60 shipped.
