  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My 2012 was out of alignment and repair shop said they couldn't quite get the camber within specs (was just past max range)

Checking further, I purchased a shim kit manufactured by SPC, part # 71934 on ebay for $44. Installation and another alignment check, cost $212 but it is now within spec. I thought some readers may find this item to be of interest....do an internet search for "SPC 71934" for more information.

Neither of my dealers in Wisconsin and Arkansas seemed to know this part was available.

FYI

Thank you for the part reference. I'm getting an alignment next week!

FYI, that part is shown as good to 2015 model year, likely will not work on your 2016 shown in your profile.
Hope the alignment is okay. Something must've been redesigned in 2016.

Today was alignment day:

The shim kit fit perfectly. I suspected as much but didn't want to post until I could provide confirmation. I'm not sure why parts sites don't list the MY 2016 Equus, but my suspicion is nothing changed between MY 2015 and 2016. Perplexingly, even Hyundai parts sites don't list the MY 2016 Equus?! In any case, install was successful.

That's great news! How much time was required to install the shim kit?

I had my mechanic do it for me. It took about 2 hours. He sanded the contact areas before putting the shims in as well.

Great! That's the time my shop took; reason I asked about the time was that the flyer enclosed with the shims shows 1/2 hour and I thought that was very optimistic!
