Hey Guys, so for the 3.8 l its said to have your tires at 33 psi front and rear. I was wondering do you guys increase by 2 ? So like 35 front and rear or keep it recommended? Idk but i feel like 33 psi is low , no ? Dont know the other engines recommend psi but do you keep it recommended or increase it slightly?

Many opinions on this. Evidently 33 works or the factory would not put it on the plate. I go 35 all around. Try it and see for yourself.

that is very much true. Although it is quite interesting it’s recommended to be at 33 psi. The camry i have is 35 recommended- less weight , smaller engine. Im going to try 35 all around , it seems right, ride quality didnt get stiffer ?

Can't tell the difference in ride. My butt has enough padding to absorb any shocks, I guess.

I have the 3.3 and keep 35 in the front and 38 in the back. I experimted over the past couple of years quite a bit. I found no difference in mileage by increasing the tire pressure and the ride got harsher when it was at 40 at the back and 38 in the front.

I had a tire guy tell me that if you drive in the city most of the time, run your tires a few pounds over. On the highway, stay closer to the recommended pressure.

Reason being is tread wear. At higher RPM's of highway speeds, the tires elongate slightly and there is more contact with the center of the tread width. In the city at slower speeds, a few extra pounds can help simulate that center tread roundness and keep the wear even across the tread width. Who knows.

I've always run mine 2 lbs over. I also drive 90% city.

So 35 around for the 3.8 l overall is sufficient for both city and highway, its hot so it will go up a few pounds from the 33
