  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

In all my 55 years of vehicle ownership I've never known tire pressures to drop by 5 psi or more when the temperature falls to freezing. Both winters I've had my Genesis this problem has occurred. It's not the end of the world, but just strange that it drops so much. Presumably the effect would be even more pronounced if I had the 21" rims with lower profile tires instead of the 19".

I've seen it recently. How much temperature change? Every 10 degrees can be 1 -2PSI drop.
When I filled my tires before a trip, it was about 78 degrees. A week later, in CT it was 23 degrees.

How many of those 55 years were you checking the pressures every morning? I know that in my 45 years, it's only been the last few years that I had cars that gave actual pressure readings. Before now, I'd check it monthly or seasonally or when one tire looked low. It's really not visually that obvious when one is 5 or 6 psi down. Perhaps your tires were going that low, but you didn't know it before now? I don't think that Gay-Lussac's Law has changed in the last few years.
