Hey Guys,
I have a base 2012 Genesis 3.8 sedan, and I have been doing a few mods to the suspension..ie...Rigid Collers, Ultra Racing chassis bars, and RSpec shocks struts with stock springs. I am now about to change my stock 17in rims for a set of Stock 18X8 Genesis rims, and im curious if I should stay with the stock 235/50/18 or go to +0 245/45/18....Thoughts on this guys? Any advantage to the 245/45?..by the way i am going to use the Michelin Pilot Sports A/S 3+...

I would stay with the 235-50-18.

I got 245/45 on stock 18s and they're fine but I don't think you'll notice a difference. I just have them from my previous car. For the look, I would have preferred wider wheels but I found some super cheap, light wheels which were stock size and I bought those for the winter. If you don't mind wasting the money, get some wider wheels and tires.
 
I wouldn't do 245/45 tires because the size differential will throw your speedometer off almost 2.5%. (It will read faster) A better option would be going 255/45. Your speedometer will only be off 0.8% then. You could also go wider on OEM rims with 265/45, which has 0 size differential.
A lot, even most, will probably tell you that you will die a horrible death if you go as wide as 265 on your stock wheels. I have driven hundreds of thousands of miles on what I call "+3 -1", (+3 width -1 sidewall). That has always given me wider tires and an accurate speedometer. I have gone insanely fast and pushed insane corners with that setup. The only downside I ever had was slightly increased wear on the middle of the tread because I ran a higher psi for better handling.
Currently I am running 255/40-19 on my R-Spec vs the OEM 235/45 and enjoy all the benefits of a wider tire with a slight size differential. (I couldn't get the 265/40 because they are a new tire and that size was not available yet.)

In all cases, get what you feel safe and comfortable with.
