  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

tire wear/life

Well, not exactly tire wear report, however on friday my wife called with a low pressure warning on the right-rear tire. When she got home there was a large construction staple in the tire on the sidewall/tread junction. Not repairable and after only 3K miles. America's tire (Discount Tire) has Dunlop OEM 18" on order for us for $200 plus tax and balance etc.

So the warning was tire specific? You just didn't get a standard warning that one of the tires was low? This may be in the manual. But I haven't read the manual cover to cover yet.

Yes, the warning is specific to the tire.

I guess this means you haven't read Moby Dick either?

Read that thesis, cover to cover? Not hardly! Thanks for the info!

When you put the spare on you also get a tire pressure system failure alarm light too. Spare doesn't have a sensor.

Ok guys a question for you.

I just had my first tire rotation and the dealer noted that I have about 30% life left on the tread.

So I have 10k tires....

Anyone else seeing short tire life?

For the record no burnout or drifting.....:)
One thing to do would be to put nitrogen in them, will help keep tires at proper tire pressure instead of fluctuating like regular air does, rotating tires every 5000 miles should be fine and keeping a check on tire wear, these tires should not wear out at 10,000 miles even though oem tires come as a softer compound because of ride quality oem tires are generally 25k-30k when they wear out providing you take care of them.

IMO, to only get 10K mi. out of any All Season tire is just unacceptable. For those experiencing such short tire life, is the wear even? The only vehicle that I am aware of getting such horrible mileage was the Acura NSX. They had terribly uneven wear because of how they set the toe and camber. Great handling, but lousy wear. Just my opinion.
