Does it wander on other roads? Or just the rutted ones? If the latter, nothing you can do really except stay off those roads. No matter what you try and do to the alingment, if the road is rutted, the trie will want to ride in the rut and the ruts are probably spaced at a different distance apart than your tires.

Crusty, it wanders on any road surface but much worse on the asphalt as mentioned in my post. These are the same roads I've driven my Avalon and TL on without this issue. It just won't track straight if I let go of the wheel. It seems to require constant correction. BTW, I like that new word "tramlining". I never knew there was a real name for it. Looks like I need to visit the alignment shop and have it checked.

Tell the alignment shop it wanders on all surfaces. Your toe is probably out.

Update to my previous post...
The wandering issue was solved by an alignment. However now with 22000 miles on the Michelin Energys, the are getting noticably noisy. The tread is about 50%. Looks like they will do well over 40000. Is anyone else experiencing any noise issues with this tire?
 
I'm only at 17,000 miles on my OE Michelins, so the are still great. They look new. My father-in-law put Michelin Pilot Sport AS on his Genesis. Those are my next tires for sure. I had them on my last car too, and I loved them there.
 
I've got the Pirelli PZero Nero and they're great. I've had the Conti DWS on an Azera and hated them almost immediately, but, definitely after 6K miles.
 
I have the Dunlops sport 5000s and they are VERY noisy and as I have stated in another post - Good year is replacing the tires with 630 miles on my new base model. Wed I will have Goodyear Assurance and will report on them after a few hundred miles. I should thank all the people that posted about their noisy Dunlops since I used the knowledge to negotiate with Goodyear
 
Probably have almost 10,000 on Conti DWS and have been very happy. Clearly an improvement over the Dunlops in every respect, but great outright. Quiet enough, more than enough grip (after break in), and works well for me as a 3+ season tire (I don't ask them to work in packed snow). A good value also, I think I got mine at Tire Rack on sale.

Approaching 16,000 mi. No issues thus far. The Michelin Energy are just fine all around.
 
I've looked for a thread to post this question without any luck, so I'll try it here. My 2012 came with the Michelin Energy Saver A/S tires and it would seem most on this forum speak highly of them. However, I notice a tendency of my car to drift both to the left and right. It's especially bad on pavement where the 18 wheelers have formed slight ruts in the asphalt. I'm constantly correcting the tracking. I've varied my pressures from 33 to 37 psi to no avail. I have not yet rotated since I have just now hit the 5,000 mile mark. I don't believe I have any balance issues since the car feels as smooth as a baby's butt. Has anyone else experienced this? Has anyone had success correcting a similar drifting problem? Could an alignment problem cause a drift in both directions? This isn't a pull in either direction, it's more like the car just wanders. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I noticed the same behavior on my 2012, especially at highway speeds on concrete roads. I thought it was the alignment, so I took my car to have the alignment done. Same behavior afterwards, so I think this is mainly due to the tires and possibly how they change shape when going at faster speeds.

I have the OE Michelin Energys as well(13,000 miles), and they are very nice and quiet on smooth surfaces, but as the miles on them add up they are getting louder and louder on these coarse, gravelly surfaces they insist on covering the roads with here in TX. However, all tires do get louder as they age and the rubber wears down.

I researched tires the other day and I am considering the Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus or Kumho Ecsta LX Platinum for my next set. Ride and noise comfort are my top priorities in a tire, so I like the look of the tread pattern on the Ecsta LX Platinum. Although the Serenity Plus are highly rated, there are a lot of comments in the reviews about their tread pattern producing a noise at highway speeds.

I have 13k on mine and they have ~37.5% tread life left (5/32" tread depth) I don't even drive or brake hard. :eek: Do you do entirely highway driving?

This is a common complaint about Energy Savers. They also wear ridiculously fast on all cars (not just Genesises). They have a life expectancy on most cars of around 30-35k miles while the non-Energy Saver versions of the same models is much longer (I've seen someone get 60k out of a set of Primacy MXV4s). I can't speak for our cars. They are universally bad tires. The only Michelin even sells them in the 1st place is as OE tires due to bulk discount to manufacturers. The same is unfortunately true for the Contis that come on the R-Spec. Overpriced and under performing.
