I had to buy a set of Blizzaks because the Dunlops are so bad in the snow. I plan to get through this summer with the Dunlops and then dump them when I switch back to the Blizzaks in December. So next spring I will be putting a new set on. Because I have the Blizzaks for winter is there an advantage to buying the Conti DW tires instead of the DWS for spring-summer-fall?

I thought I was in the same situation, but because the weather (everywhere) is so unpredictable I went with the DWS instead of the DW. So, as un-expected, the day after I remove the Blizzaks and put on the new DWSes we get 4 inches of snow! Thankfully, and the tread is still brand new, the Contis are clearly head and shoulders better than the original Dunlops, which were essentially undrivable. So I can heartily recommend the DWS.

I just took delivery of Conti DWS. My OE Dunlops started to sound really bad around 40-50mps almost as if one of the tire was flat. Also I've driven through every snow storm in NYC ever since I started driving and dunlops were the worst tires I've had and I had some bad tires in the past. Getting rid of these dunlops at only 19k miles. Can't wait to see the difference. =)

EDIT:: This is my first Continental DWS and these tires are.... SEXY!

EDIT again:: Got the tires on and drove about 10 miles on local and 30 miles on highway. I felt the difference right away! No more road noise and much smoother! The car does feel like its pulling slightly to the right. Do I need wheel alignment or does tires need to be broken in?

Bringing my Optima to Discount Tire this week to have them do a tire DOT inspection and to find out if they are intested in buying the horrible OEM tires Hankook Optimo H431 The guy I spoke with said that the 225 45 18 on the Optima was not common, but I hope to have them make me an offer since I will be putting the DWS (I like my DW's on the Genesis that much) on the Optima if they bite. I notice on TireRack the Optimo's are much more $ than the DWS.

I'm really satisfied with my DWS's. Their wet traction is truly impressive and the overall handling of the tire is excellent, they have minimal road noise over most surfaces and hands down beat the Dunlops that came on the car.

Went to Discount tire yesterday and they offered me $180 for my tires on my Optima. Not much money, but I can't stand the tires, and I want to wifey to be safe in winter, and the OEM Hankook tires are not rated well in snow and ice. I had the store order me up the DWS and will get them installed on Tuesday. Looking forward to it.

Same here, i just put on my DWS a few weeks ago and i have a slight pull to the right. I'll get an alignment when i go for my 78K checkup

I had the slight pull to the right with my DWS's also until I went to a dealership that uses the new Hunter Road Force GSP9700 with the new StraightTrak balancing system, since then zero issues and no vibration in the steering wheel at higher speeds.

I've reached 32K with the Dunlops on my 4.6 Genesis Sedan and it's now time to replace them.

These seem to be the 2 tires that are most recommended on this forum and on Tirerack.com.

FYI I have the new Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus set of tires. Now with just under 15000 miles on the set and very smooth, very quiet, and little wear. No pulling. Excellent tire in rain.

Is there some reason why so many people can't spell Dunlop? I keep seeing Dunlap so often, even I am getting confused about the correct spelling.

I thought Dunflop was the correct spelling.
