  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Edit :And where will they rub if they did so will be adding some spacers resolve it?

Could go a little wider but IMO best to stay w/ a series taller on the 225/255 setup, like a 225/45 front & 255/40 rear, this will result in a 3% difference in diameter (and a 3% decrease w/ your speedometer speed). If you go wider w/ your tires the sidewall isn't as firm, so going taller and wider on the narrower factory wheels will give you less support there. Here's the specs on the front tire change from a 225/40 to a 225/45

Thank you very much , but this is something i could sacrifice to save my tires and for better ride quality in my area also heard it will rub as soon as go any bigger so wanted to check if someone tried it.
And the clearance number in the link you send are for the g70?

The link I posted is a standard tire size link, the wheel specs are stock Genesis width and offset though. You're going to a 23mm taller tire so about 12mm closer to the top of the inner fender, you won't have any problems with that. It would be the same as if you lowered your car about a half inch (as far as tire gap to the upper inner fender arches). If you went a lot wider you may have some inner clearance issues but I doubt it.

Do you intend to lower the car or keep it standard? I've been studying tire/tyre sizes for almost a year now... There won't be any impact on the next profile up... if you keep to the narrow tyre 225/45R/19 etc It'll just look a little less Industrial than performance, than the 235 or 245's... Me,member here by Vofy or such has gone into great detail here explaining the performance aspect to profile sizes etc... \

I've been researching this exact subject for the same reasons, as the roads here in Hobiton are built worse than Roman roads, which are more like goat tracks. I wouldn't go too wide as the profile hight will be more evident...

The standard G70 Rims are extremely heavy so I intended to go 18inch with a higher profile to accommodate your concerns... There are a couple of good threads here which are real good reads.

Thank you very much for your reply , no i intend to keep the car suspension height stock and i want to go the highest sidewall possible so if the 225/50/19 fit i will do it😁 the tire width not very importantto me, previous car was charger rt with 20 inch rims and it i used 255/45/20 in the front .
I want to keep the stock 19 as they look better so if anyone can confirm the tallest side wall without rubbing issues i appreciate it.

I think it comes down to your driving intentions, if you're just using it for daily transport, not pushing the car much, you could get by w/ those extra tall tires. I think a 225/45 would be as high as I'd go though as you'd still be able to drive it pretty much as hard as you'd like, taller than that the sidewall flex becomes more prevalent, the car would feel floaty, not as controlled when pushed harder. There may be some ECU controlled features that may not adjust well to going so far off OEM diameter but I have no idea about that, and being RWD it may not be an issue but???

If 245/40/19 will fit in the front i think it's perfect for me but i am afraid there will be som rubbing issues
