  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Has anyone seen differences in throttle response or differences in general in the way the car drives with the ECO mode on? I am guessing it will "try" and improve upon the MPG. But I am curious if anyone out there with a 2012 V6 has seen any advantages or disadvantages using it. I have been driving with it on. Please share your thoughts and mode you use...thanks in advance:D

I haven't tried yet... but my mileage in the first 450 miles has been pretty atrocious - I can't imagine me turning off "eco" mode! Don't even know how LOL.

(I am also very curious about the difference)

The manual says that it's just an indicator, nothing more.

It changes nothing but your awareness of whether or not you are driving economically. I think it would have been easy enough to have Eco mode associated with a separate fuel-saving ECU engine/transmission mapping, but Hyundai didn't agree!

Thats what I thought. I had an early model 2011 Sonata that had the same feature as these Genesis' do--a dummy light. No "Active Eco" is surprising seeing how they changed the Sonata to an Active Eco right in the middle of 2011 production.

My base 2012 V6 doesn't have an ECO mode. Does that make me ECO-intolerant? :D

My ECO mode is a bicycle ...
