  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

One of the great things about being retired is that I go out almost every morning, to one the the many coffee shops here in the Mount Dora area. On Sunday mornings, I always go to one that has a balcony, where I sit, drink my Cafe Mocha, read the paper, and just watch the world go by.

This morning, I saw TWO, Genesis V8's. One went by that was exactly like mine, Champagne in color. Well thinking that he may have parked around the corner, when I left the coffee shop, I went looking for it. Nowhere to be found, however there was a Silver V8 parked on the next street over. I know that there is at least one other Champagne V8 in town but that one has he "Chrome (or Stainless)" covers over the "B" pillers.

Hyundai is selling too many of these Genesis' :D :p I always thought I would have a rare car. (Guess I'll just have to go for an Equus)

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I am lucky, No other owners that I have seen in my town of 100k.

Local dealer still has a 2009 V-6 on the lot from when I bought my v-8 a year ago. (that means they sold or transferred the other v-6)...

I've seen a black one near where I live, and a couple others around the city, but its still a rare bird where i live.

Anyone watch NBC national news this evening? There was a segment on cell phones and driving. Towards the end of the spot there was news man Tom Costello waving his phone in none other than a Genesis......

It is his car. He posts here. Someone posted an earlier link where he was talking about how prepare for winter driving.

I've yet to see another Genesis here in CT. And I've been looking!

If you want to see a nice Genesis just tune in to TNT and watch Leverage. Tim Hutton drives a nice black one. I'm sure Hyundai pays for this because you see it a lot. Good show BTW.

None here that I've seen so far. But it's no doubt coming.

There is a Silver/Black '09 V8 Tech in my neighborhood. I haven't talked with the owner yet but, I first saw his car about a year ago.
That was the exterior color that I always wanted so, it forced me to go with plan B. I ended up getting a White/Cashmere '10 V8 Tech. Don't get me wrong. I do love the White/Cashmere combo.

I've had my car since 9/09 and have put 24K miles on it, I have not seen many on the NJ streets.

My wife and I went for a walk around our neighborhood and we saw 2 of them. That's saying something. It's being bought by reasonable people. We've got maybe 5-6 S class, a few 7 series. It seems as though every other house has an E class or 3 series. I wonder if in 5 years time we'll see double digit Genesis in the neighborhood?

I see a few here in Atlanta. Not has many has you would think in such a big city. When I do see them they tend to be V-6's

One of them is mine, black 3.8 V6.

Well, not really surprising. The car is designed like its $10-20K more expensive than it really is, built like a tank, is fuel efficient in both engines, and has that piece of mind warranty. With Hyundai gaining more exposure time and people's perception of the brand slowly changing, we'll only see more of these cars on the road. But just remember this: you folks were the pioneers, the few, the proud, the mar.... the brave :) . Basically, you people had BALLS. (or ovaries for the ladies) :D

In our cul-de-sac subdivision, I have encountered three Gennys in the last week. One was a Tau like mine, same paint. Two had three occupants and I suspect they may have been real estate agents showing houses in the subdivision.

I live in extreme southeastern NC, an island community of 1000 people. I have the only Genesis... duh! :p Of course, I do. There are two up in the Fayetteville area, about 100 mi from me. A good friend of mine came down from Raleigh [170 mi from here], drove my black '09 3.8 and had to have one just like it! He went to his dealer at home and they found one in Wilmington NC just up the road from me. His is identical to mine, Black/black, 'cept it's a '10 model with the nav pkg [and improved suspension:D]....

Ron, who nearly was blown away by last nights storm heading for DC.

Today, February 28th, between 10:30am and 1:30pm, I saw four. FOUR. All in Mt. Dora.
One Champagne, One Gray, and two Silver.
I think they are breeding like rabbits around here.

Still would love to buy (or get more information on) the 2009 Sterling Blue 4.6 Tech that is sitting in the back lot at my dealer. Low miles. Winged emblems front and rear. Painted pinstrips (not tape) on sides and trunk (tasteful not trashy). It has writing on the windshield saying something like "Not for sale" or "Do not drive" or something like that, plus on the rear side window there is auction type writing. Service department knows nothing. Sales department knows nothing. NOBODY KNOWS NOTHING. My favorate Salesperson says that he thinks it belongs to Hyundai (exec car) and that it has to go to the auction, and some dealer will buy it there. I tend to believe it is an exec car because a lease owner would not put that extra money (emblems, painted pinstripe, etc) into a car that he only uses for one year.

This is the first and only Genesis I've seen in Sterling Blue and I would love to buy it for my wife, trading the Continental, now that she is getting to like my Genesis. <grin>

I hope she gets it. It should look stunning next to yours.
