Hello everyone, I am brand new to this forum and very happy to share with all how excited I am about taking home my 2015 Genesis 3.8 RWD in Manhattan Brown last Tuesday. I was specifically looking for the Tech Package because I wanted the upgraded leather and some of the added safety features. The dealers in my area seem to have a lot of 5.0s on the lot since everyone is opting for the efficiency of the 3.8s. That said, most of the 3.8s are equipped with the Signature Package. Well, there was one 3.8 left on the showroom floor with the Tech Package and to my surprise the Manhattan Brown color blew me away, it looks very classy and is perfect for me.
I was also considering and test drove a 2014 Lexus GS 350 (for lease) and a certified pre-owned 2012 Mercedes E350 with Premium II package (for purchase). Both of these cars could not compete with the 2015 Genesis, in fact, they came up very short in many areas.
I negotiated my lease aggressively, I did a lot of research and the deal had to be approved by the General Manager. The Finance Manager was even surprised by the numbers he saw once I got in. As part of the deal I had the dealer re-badge the "Flying H" emblem with the Genesis Emblem, they did this prior to me driving off the lot. To those wondering, I did this because it looks good, not because I am trying to hide the fact I got a Hyundai, I am proud of what Hyundai has done here. For those of you out there considering leasing a 2015, here were the terms:
36 month lease, 12,000 miles/year
MSRP: $46,535
Drive offs: $4,000 including the down payment, tax on down payment, registration/fees, and 1st month's payment
Invoice Price: $42,114.75
Net selling price with acquisition fee ($595) and cap reduction via deposit ($3,222.72): $39,487.03
RV: 58%
MF: .00123 (requires 1st tier credit)
Monthly Payment: $428.90 pre-tax / $467.50 with 9% CA tax.
I did add the excessive wear & tear insurance through Hyundai which added $16.00 per month. Hope to get to know some of you soon and look forward to answering any questions regarding my lease if anyone wants to chat. Cheers.
