Well. 6 weeks ago I test drove the genesis coupe 3.8 and fell in love.
The features the layout and the design were awesome. Performace definately hit on bang for the buck level. I had also wanted a 370z but didn't bother with it cuz
I'm in a wheelchair and when I went to test the 350z. The crossbar in the tiny
Trunk didn't allow my wheelchair in the trunk. So I was considering a g37
But when genesis came out. I thought. Bang 4 buck. G37 is not worth it.
Well. Going to the dealer today to give my altima 3.5se an oil change I inspected
The 370z and thought its hot styling but thought genesis coupe has more interior features
And I luv it has moonroof and my wheelchair wouldn't fit.
Well one of the salesguys I kno from going a lot saw me around it and asked if I was interested. I told him bout the trunk and he said. Well let's try cuz the cross bar is behind
The seat. Behold. It fit!! It took the whole space but surprisingly with I got it in
With no rear view blockage. He then asked if I wanted to test drive it. Isaid sure! Lol
My wife took my portable hand controls from my altima and installed them. He gave me the keys and said take it out as long as you want n I c you later. No license and insurance request. Lol . Maybe cuz they already kno me there. Well it was a base 370 with the 3k
Sport package. 14inch akebono brakes in black. 19x9 front 19x10 rear tires 7speed w paddleshift. And a tuned exhaust. The growl was not as throaty as the genesis
But had an achy whine like come on! I wanna play. The interior is high quality but no leather. I was sad that the leather option is out of my range. This a area where I luv and respect the genesis coupe. But then I drove the 370. Total shock. I just never
Expected. A 35k car to perform that way. But then I never expected the genesis coupe
To perform that well for under 30. I was quoted a 3.8track auto at 28.5k vs. 35k for 370 with the most serious sport package as far as suspension and wheels etc.
Monthly payments are 550 gen. 650 for 370.
Value vs bang. 2 great cars. I'm stuck! Torn between 2 luvs. Any input anyone? I would like to kno what you guys think.

If the wheel chair fits in the Genesis coupe, I'd go with that. Save the $100 in payments, give you extra room to move around in, looks well this is just subjective, however performance in the Gen Coupe is definitely up there with the big boys. With that extra 2 seats in the back, you can fit people if need be. In the 370Z, you cant even think of doing that.

the extra seats are great and a must for me....But, it's tough to beat the VQ when it comes to potent 6 cylinder

Yeah. I agree with both of you. The chair fits in the 370z. It didn't fit in the 350 cuz of the center cross bar. I test drove the genesis coupe. My faves were. Leather inerior. Excellent fit and finish 4 seats of course. Styling and loads of kool features including the stereo. The lows were after 80mph it was kind of str8 laced in its revs. The acceleration started to feel sedanish. I kno I can fix that with intake headers and exhaust. Now the highs of the 370z were. After 80 it screams. It flys it bobs and weaves with grace. The akebono brakes are super quick stopping and the paddle shift acts like a manual. The downside is. 2 SEATS. Tiny trunk so only my wheelchair fits and genny fits my chair and then some. the akebonos stop great but feel rough. I can fix that with hawk ceramic brake pads though. I also have an 08altima though. But its always good to have the back seat. The genny colors are cooler. But either one I get I will get black.lol. damn I wish I can afford both! Lol the hyundai just has underdog appeal that I like. Its great to beat a guy at the track who would say. Its just a hyundai. I would luv that so much. But I also like the porsche like feel of the 370. Lol. I think these are just 2 truly awesome revolutionary cars. Its like havin 2 girlfriends. One knows how to rock them hips. The other knows how to use those lips. Lol who do you choose? Lol

Lol. I wish I could afford both. Well I finally made my decision n bellieve
Me it wasn't easy. The genesis one in almost every way accept 2 thingz.
First I wanna say the steering in the Genesis Coupe feels better weighted and its
Point and shoot ability I can say is superior to the more mature Z. Which I find
Extremely impressive. Plus features practicality and insurance cost on top
Of being respectively fast and one of the best handlers under 70k just makes it a
Wonderful and enjoyable car.
But in the end. I chose the Z. Reason was. Its tossibilty and highly capable
Handling. Though the genesis coupe feels more accurate and linear.
The Z feels extremely tossable and light on its feet. Its revs after 80mph feel like a
Exotic supercar but less refined. Its the only paddleshift that I felt with DSG like characteristics. (Only being able to compare to porsche 911
And M3) its .98g grip feels more like 1.01g and it gives an adrenaline rush that I
Have felt in only one modded production car. The 93 rx7 on full tune. And handling
Is like a slightly unrefined porsche 911. The genesis coupe is a master sport
Tourer. When I compare it to my cousins g37s in handling. They are very much
Comparable except I know the g37 is aggressive over 100mph. I never got the Genesis Coupe
Over 100mph but I got it to 88mph. Power began to level off. The Genesis Coupe is a better value overall. Almost a G37 with 10g discount
I know with the v6 an aftermarket intake, exhaust headers, grounding kit oil
And tranny coolers is going to put it up to about 385hp. And you'll be looking at
12 second quarter mile runs if not lower. For about the same price as a loaded
Base Z. But I'm impatient. Lol and the out of the box rocket factor,
13 second quarters, and an adrenaline rush ride sold me. But I will say this. I will
Do my best to pay off the Z in 3 years and get the 2nd generation Genesis Coupe.
The Genesis Coupe is beautiful, sleek, fast, fun, affordable, and deserves a standing
Ovation from every other car company that fell back on there 4 seat coupe
projects(toyota-subaru, nissan, and gms z28 offering.) I wanna wish all you gen owners
Happiness with ur new rides. Ur all lookin like stars in ya gencoupes.
Jus cuz I stayed with the brand I been drivin 4 yrs doesn't mean I lost luv.
I will always tip my hat to the gen n hopefully ill get with y'all in 3years. But ill keep comin in
To see all your hot pics n mods. And to see what's new.
Much luv.

370 was amazing car. There was no q on it. Much better than 350. I just couldn't have 370 because I need to do daily commute to my work on it. I wanted something in between. something like g37 or Genesis Coupe. 370 and Genesis Coupe are very different car and aimed at different purpose, i think. if you are seeking pure sport performance, 370 is smashing deal, IMHO.

Yeah I'm lookin for pure performance. I have an 08 nissan
Altima 3.5SE sports sedan and g35 having put a lot of miles on
The g and looking for an advanced paddleshift. I was looking
Into the genesis coupe. My pricepoint was 30k. I didn't think that the 370z would fit my wheelchair In the trunk n it did. My altima is practical n roomy for 5.
In a coupe. All I need is enough trunk space in case I need
Room for my wife? Lol the 370z is 5k over my price point but
After a 45 minute, no holds barred test drive.
I was convinced. And sacrifices must be made.
This car really does have exotic car moves.
It revs like no other v6 in the price range and does with
3.7V6 what american pony cars do with 6.0L V8. It doesn't hav
The nice cool rumble of the v8. The Z is as fast as a camaro SS on a
Str8 line. But can take corners like a porsche cayman. I think that's an amazing
Feat at the pricepoint. The genesis coupe is still a car I want.
But I can wait for the 2nd gen. The Z I can twin turbo and the
Gen I will beef it up non aspirated. When I get the Genesis Coupe in 2013 it will be my daily driver and my Z should be race ready by then. I'm only gonna put 5k miles
A year on the 370 as I prep it for street racing over the next couple years
