  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I've searched other threads, you tube etc.. but can't find a definitive answer.

Long story short, I purchased a set of winter wheels/tires from a Canadian big box store and with a relative's discount saved nearly $1000 over what the dealership was charging.

Problem is, he wasn't able to get the Napa Echlin sensors to sync up (outdated scanner software) which meant they weren't being detected which I was fine with. No lights no warning, just empty slots on the TPMS screen. But a week later, the "Check TPMS" screen comes on along with 3 warning lights.

As I start to learn more about the TPMS sensors, I start to wonder, am I going to have to have the original hyundai sensors reprogrammed when the tires are swapped again in the spring or will they sync up automatically and assuming we can get the Napas to sync up, will they have to be reprogrammed each fall or will the computer recognize both sets of codes after they've initialized once?

Because I would like to change my own tires fall/summer, I'm considering purchasing the Ateq quickset TPMS tool if I'm going to have to reprogram each season.

If anyone can shed some light on the subject, it would be greatly appreciated

OEM sensors will sync up automatically. So will many reputable second hand sensors.

Thanks,

So the reason the Napas couldn't be synced up is because they have to be initialized or woken up? I know some work right out of the box but these don't.

The specs say Clonable/ID writable.
