  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

TPMS Saga Continues

tough to say, these things have a mind of their own.

Should I be anticipating a cornucopia of gremlins with the Genisis? From what I have been reading on this forum, it seems there are basically 2 categories of problems with this car. The notorious suspension issues and electrical. Has the car been improving since its introduction?

The suspension is a matter of taste. If you are a BMW/Infiniti type, you will like the suspension. If you are a Lexus/Mercedes type, you will hate it. however, I wouldn't categorize it as a problem.
I have had 2 electrical problems, one with the head unit, the other with the TPMS light, both have been resolved under warranty. My car is 09, build date 10/08.
Perception is reality, and the reality is that a lot of people on this site come here to seek solutions to some problem they're having, so as a member you are led to believe that most Genesis have these problems because you never hear from the people that have no issues.
I wouldn't hesitate to buy this car again if I had to choose to do it all over again. If you're waiting for the perfect car you are gonna be dead before it arrives.

Perfect no....but after 6 1/2 years of just about trouble free driving with my G35 Coupe, I'm not big on visiting the dealership. Reliability is probably the biggest thing I look for when purchasing a car and that is why after the European experience, I will only stay with Japanese and now considering Korean. The Genesis is still a big consideration of mine, but I most likely will wait for the 2011. I'm sure a few more kinks might be taken out by then as well. It is encouraging that you have an early build date and your issues have been resolved.

As you know the G35 has had it's own issues as well. Also, as you probably know, mechanically it's genuinely well made and things people have issues with can usually be sorted out. The Genesis is the same way. There have been no recalls for something serious, a-la sticky gas pedal, the car is well made, and most of the issues people are having with the car are fairly minor. If you can delay a new car purchase till 2011, then that's a good way to go.
