  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have recently purchased a 2010 Genesis Coupe 2.0 turbo. I have not made any modifications to the vehicle, and lately i have been having trouble with my traction control. When i start the car occasionally traction control will be disengaged. If i try to turn traction control back on it wont work. Recently traction control has been turning off while i am driving now. The only way to turn traction control back on is by shutting the car off. I was wondering if anyone has experienced this problem before, and solutions to fixing this problem. Thank you.

On another forum they said you have to reset, reboot. or go to the dealer. Me with something that is a safety issue, Dealer while it is still under warranty. Could be a lose wire on a wheel sensor or something not simple. I would not play around with traction control.

I've had a couple of instances of the wheel's spinning on dry pavement for some distance before I finally decided the traction control was not going to "kick in" and stop it. Just twice in less than 3,000 miles. No check engine lights, no indication the system was anything other than ON and it just did it the two times with several weeks between the two times.

I looked in the owner's manual under the section on driving under hazardous conditions and found nothing on traction control. I guess I need to spend more time with the manual and find the section that explains how it should work (what it should/should not do.)

Loss of traction (wheelspin and the car's rear end heading sideways) is familiar to me since my other car is an old IROC Z28 with the TPI engine. You just let up on the pedal and the tires grab and away you go. I don't plan on driving it this winter (in the snow) anyway. That's what the truck or jeep is for.

Yes, if its causing you a problem go to the dealer and start getting a record of the problem in case you continue to have problems and they don't get fixed pretty quick.
