  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Does anyone know what traffic source the nav system is using?

The one I am in is using SiriusXM radio's traffic information, though I think there is another source it polls from in addition to that for those who don't subscribe to it.

Our Genesis has been located and we should be picking it up by next Friday [am booked solid until then and it's going to be so hard until then :)].

This will be our first Hyundai and our last vehicle with any sort of NAV was a 2004 Honda Pilot. Back then there was no traffic info.

The traffic info on the new Genesis: is at always available or do I need a subscription to Sirius [or some other source] for it? Will it expire after a honeymoon period? And, how reliable have people found it? We live in the NYC area and for those of us who live/work/drive around here, you know what I mean...

Thank you,

Jay

I believe the traffic used by the Nav is a separate no charge agreement from the full SiriusXM radio which is for fee after the trial period.

There are better traffic sources via cell phone apps - the crowd sourced ones like 'Waz" are sometimes more accurate in populated areas and can also warn of cops and cars on the side of the road.

Thank you, Keyser Söze [one of my all time favorite characters]. Do you have any input on it's accuracy/reliability?

I am afraid I do not have direct experience yet. Some have complained of minor map issues in another thread here.
