  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Anyone aware or have a trailer hitch assembly for a 2022 G70? I bought some E Mtb and need to carry them often.
Ty

I've checked with Draw Tite, Curt, Reese and Etrailer and none offer a solution at this time.

I’d love something too. Figured if somebody was going to develop a hitch, the 2019, 2020 and 2021 models would have something by now. Assuming the chassis attach points are the same between some of these models. I just installed a receiver hitch on my 2006 Miata for use with my E bike that works fine. If a manufacturer will make a hitch for a small convertible, hard to figure why no one makes a hitch for a larger 4 door sedan like the G70?

Easy: Because there are A LOT less common. Ha ha. Don't know the production figures, but bet they're a small fraction of Miatas.

Has anyone tried using one from a Stinger??

Did not know hitch company’s supported the Stinger? Stinger being a hatch, I would assume the structural attach points are still the same between vehicles but not sure? If it attaches, might need some bumper cover trimming done maybe?

Here are the instructions to the Draw-Tite hitch for the Stinger: https://www.towingproducts.net/application/support/instructions/n24974.pdf

You'd need to find out if the 4 mounting holes on each side are the same as on the G70. Even if they are the same, the fit around the stock Stinger mufflers are pretty tight, so they may not fit around the G70 mufflers, which are different.

Also, since this is not a "no cut" installation on the Stinger and required cutting a notch for the receiver to poke out, you'd be lucky if you could do the same on the G70.

Not to say it's entirely impossible, but unlike other bolt-on compatible Stinger/G70 accessories, this one is iffy.

Great info Thank you

Thanks I’ll check the instructions out. The hitch I installed on my Miata was supposed to require a slight notch in the lower area of the bumper cover, but working in a aerospace tool fab shop has some advantages. I made some mods and dropped the receiver down slightly and had it re-welded so no cutting was needed when I was done. Be easy enough to mod the Stinger hitch if basic attach points and clearances all match. When I have my G70 on my lift next time I’ll compare pictures of the Stinger instructions to my G70 undercarriage to see if it may work or not?

Agreed

FWIW, if any of you live near Tempe, AZ and don't mind lending U-Haul your G70 for 4-5 days, they will custom design a hitch using your car as the template. You get to keep the hitch for free and even lifetime warranty.

Shoot... if I lived near there, I'd do it whether I really need a hitch or not. :)

From what I've read, UHaul will do it in any of their locations for a very reasonable price. I ordered a Curt hitch for my G80 Sport, but paid a pretty penny for a local shop to install it. Wish I had gone to UHaul.

Pretty sure that's the case if Uhaul is already a part number they can order for your car. If you click on that link, it shows that Uhaul does not have one for the G70, but their Tempe, AZ R&D facility can custom fab one to your car. Once that freebie offer is taken up and they've got a hitch designed and test fitted, then they'll add a P/N that any of their stores can order.

E-Trailer doesn't list any hitches for the G70, so I doubt there are any out there. Besides the car being too low for one IMO, the huge battery 'udder' in the midde of the car (that reminds me I need to paint that damn thing black, since it's white now, and looks like crap) makes it impossible to fit anything IMO.

Genesis sold a receiver for the G70. First in Australia at minimum and then Canada. Only good for bikes, but it was something. Search the old threads here, this is not the first time this has been asked.

None of the retailers will have a hitch to your car

Have a 2020 G70 and had to make a custom hitch ( see the post with pictures)

The car has holes in the subframe for the hitch as Genesis Canada sells OEM hitch, but not in the USA.

Call the company in the post and see if they can make one for you. If you need more pictures or want to see how it looks with a rack just PM me
I have 1Up rack for one bike

Where can I reach out to you

Greetings all, somewhere on this forum someone posted a p/n for a Genesis hitch, G9H03AP000, available in Canada, I went to my dealer in Montreal and to my surprise this part showed up on his computer, showed they had 4 in stock in Toronto, so I ordered it and I am now having it installed. The instructions shows that it is manufactured by Curt for the G70… I did look on their web site some weeks ago to see if they had one available for the G70 but nothing showed as available. Thinking that this must be an arrangement made such that Genesis would have exclusivity. This design seems particular because it must clear the battery box in the trunk, hoping it will not be excessively close to the ground, anyway will post pictures with my bike rack installed.
