I used the Ravenol transmission fluid in my old 2015 5.0 before I sold it. I only perform one drain and fill with the fluid. Therefore, i only removed about 3.5 quarts of old transmission fluid. However, the transmission did shift very smooth after the one drain and fill up until I sold the car. Ravenol is a good quality brand that is used more in Europe for BMW, VW and Mercedes transmission services.Hi. I want to drain and fill my transmission fluid and replace the pan and filter. I know the stealership will r@pe me if I bring it in. Has anyone used this kit before: Hyundai Genesis Transmission Fluid Change Kit - 2012-16 - 8 Spd - Ravenol
Also, is there a step by step write-up and can a DYI-er do this?
Thanks.
I first jacked up the Genesis leveled and then drained the old transmission fluid out of the drain plug in the transmission pan. I then used a pump to fill the transmission fluid into the fill plug until is flow back out. I then ran the engine until the transmission fluid was warmed up to about 134F and then let the excess fluid drain out of the level plug until it was steadily dripping.
This is just the quick run down of the process. The entire process in located online under a transmission TSB.
