  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Transmission Fluid Leak

Went to the dealership to follow up on the issue in person. Here's the box that Hyundai sent them with the new transmission.

Hoisted Genesis

The new transmission was leaking fluid too.

What an ownership experience thus far. What a joke. My fortune with Hyundais have been horrible.

So it's the same dealer that you purchased from a ~50k car, didn't provide a loaner for ya?

What is the name of the dealer then? I rather avoid going there, so would everyone else, I guess...

@Darecki - Bought the car out of state, as it was the only one available in the area at the time. This is my closest servicing dealership, John Amato.

Latest update was yesterday, third transmission hasn't arrived yet. Service manager couldn't get a hold of them yesterday and left a message.

Soon to be 3 weeks at this rate.

Finally got the car back yesterday. Third transmissions a charm!

RO cites there was an internal transmission failure. The transmission was leaking from the breather tube. They found two 10mm bolts missing from the transmission fluid cooler. They had added dye to the transmission fluid and drove it for 19 miles and the fluid was still leaking. They suspect it was overheating and leaking out.

Regional CS manager said there was nothing technically wrong with it, and it operating as it should have, with the transmission fluid leaking out when it overheats. Suggested I occasionally let the transmission cool down during normal operation, as driving it hard probably contributed to it. They did however, want to see the transmission, to determine further root causes of this issue.

19 days out of service total, with a loaner being rejected by corporate and the local dealer, is unacceptable.

Hopefully, that is the last issue I have with the car. Watch your undersides when you get those oil changes.

Thanks for the update and good luck. No loaner is bullshit.

When I got my tranny replaced, I got a Sonata Hybrid loaner. Nice enough, but I wanted my Genny back! Still, kudoes to Carolina Kia in High Point, NC.
