  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello everyone. I was hoping someone might have some advice or knowledge on the code P0841 transmission fluid pressure sensor. I have a 2012 Genesis 4.6. I've taken my car to 2 different mechanics and both told me that I would have to take the car directly to a certified Hyundai dealership which I did that and once taken to the dealership I was told that the code that I was talking about did not come up on their scans of the car. This is frustrating because my car is due for a smog and every certified smog shop that I've been to has told me that my car won't pass because of this code. But when I bring the car into the dealership, they tell me that the code doesn't exist. I'm running out of ideas and the dealership will not even attempt to fix it because they say its not there. I could really use some kind of advice cause the only thing I can think of now is a replacement transmission and if it comes to that I'd mostly likely just get a different car. Any information would be helpful and appreciated.

You ever figure this out? Was it a permanent code??

Been there done that. Had this code pop up exactly one time in my Silver 2012 4.6. Picked it up on my generic scan tool ($15 ELM327 knockoff with Torque Pro app). It cleared itself after 3 key-off/key-on restarts and never came back. Nothing was stored that I could ever see on generic OBD2 once the money light went out. That was when I first learned that our cars will self-clear intermittent codes like this.

But there's more to the story. Read this: Code P0841: Hyundai/KIA A8LR1 Transmission

So there are two options: install the jumper wire, or run the 14-AT-001 software update that ignores the error.

I just got this code yesterday. This morning, on more CEL. 2012 3.8 sedan w/ 87k.

I’ll probably just ignore it and see if it happens again…
