Transmission issues

I have a 2015 Genesis Ultimate. I was told when purchased it just had the transmission replaced at 53,000 then not long after my warranty expired seems as though I’m possibly having transmission issues. Just wondering has anyone else had any jerking while driving issues? Was told I may just need a tune up air filter and a system cleaning but from reading in the group what’s the issue with the solenoid?? I’m a female looking for answers please help

In all honesty it’s hard to tell without test driving it, but it could be a variety of things from the transmission to the spark plugs fuel injectors misfiring or even something in the suspension. I’d say it is worth it to take it to the dealership and pay diagnostic fee to figure it out

The 3rd & 5th gear solenoids are a known issue - there are updated parts & a TSB on this. Also there is a lengthy thread on the problem.

Not sure if this was addressed in another post and if yes, accept my apologies.

The mystery about transmission hard shift is finally revealed.

Hyundai issued a TSB for HARSH 2~3, 3~4 OR 4~5 UPSHIFT back in November 2021.

The culprits are two solenoids which Hyundai upgraded and they need to be installed instead of the old ones.

The bulletin describes the procedure to replace the 35R and 4&OD solenoids for as shift flare and/or harsh shift during the 2~3, 3~4 or 4~5 upshift.

Attached is the TSB copy which illustrates the part numbers.

Even though this response is 3 months later - it could be a solenoid issue. My First transmission was replaced at about 60k miles. Then at about 120k miles, same problem returned. Not being covered by a warranty and not wanting to pay thousands for Hyundai to replace this transmission, I had a local transmission shop take a swing. They replaced the solenoid valve assembly and it's been fine since (currently have 145k miles) *knocks on wood*.

What were the symptoms of the hard shifts you've experienced? 2nd to 3rd and 4th to 5th upshift?
