  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Which camp are you in: partial flush, or complete fluid exchange? Goss promotes the latter.

Complete. A partial may help, but if you had a flat beer would you only pour out half and replace it?

Complete flush, anything less is just a waste of money. My question is being specific to the Genesis 8 speed is length of time or mileage!
From what I’ve read most are saying you never have to change it ,to me that’s just nuts it’s going to need replacing at some point I just want to be sure when !

My first car had a continuous change system. You just add a quart every month or so keeping it fresh all the time. Engine had a similar system add a quart every 500 miles.

I agree with fluid exchange, all the old out and new put in. I have a 2003 XG350 and went to have the radiator flushed 2 years ago. The place that did it hooked up the machine to the radiator cap and suctioned out the fluid. I was watching and saw the hoses collapse due to the suction and then they refilled it. My problem with that is they could only take out the fluid in the hoses and not the radiator or the engine block. It was as EdP said, taking out some of the flat beer and pouring in new. I was going to protest the service but I got the impression that the workers wouldn't understand, so I paid and won't go back. The sad thing is, I'm their landlord. As long as the checks clear...

Ed, I had a 49 Olds with a feature that came in handy ,always knew when it needed oil......It quit smokin’ lol

I have a question about getting the TCU reset. Anyone know if the dealership can do this and maybe time it takes or pricing ?

I recently had a complete transmission flushed and filled. My car is at 98k miles, should I have the TCU reset to factory specs ?
