  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

just had my transmission fluid changed they did a flush on my 2012 sedan 3.8 75.200 miles whats happening now is sometimes i put the car in drive and it doesnt go into gear . it happens mostly when the car is hot. and the temperature outside is hot. no problem in reverse .. if i put the car in reverse an then into drive then it works,, once its in drive it works fine its not slipping.... iam thinking not enough fluid maybe , the receipt says the mechanic put 12 quarts in...anyone had this problem thanks

So I have a few bits of info from several years ago when I had my 2014 transmission's first "drain and fill" at 86K miles. The technician and service advisor stated the transmission was a drain and service only with no way to flush. I was charged the rate of $199.00 and on the receipt was 6 qts of transmission fluid. Thru recent videos observed, draining only lets out 4 qts which means the putting 4 qts back in. The other ? qts are inside the valve bodies and gearing that will be cycled thru the new fluid hence the YouTube video showing the owner servicing his transmission in this fashion and driving it for several miles in between services previously mentioned 7 to 8 times so aall of the drained fluid is a vivid reddish color before replacing with a new pan with internal/integrated filter. Adding approx 4 qts then on the way for another 80 to 100K miles(my thoughts).
Anyone please feel free to comment if I am wrong as I am soon to be doing this process on my vehicle now with 202,375 miles.

Damn, sorry to hear of your issues. I think you might want to shop around for another mechanic shop. My brakes are original. I will be purchasing new rotors and pads (kits), trying to figure if OE or the Sure Stop vented disc path is the way to go? I believe your transmission is different than mine. The forum "Elders" know more about this than I do.
