Hi Bob: Some say consult the owner's manual and some say not to service the transmission. I have a 2014 3.8 Sedan and I had the transmission and differential drained/serviced in the late 80K mileage range from new by the dealership where I purchased it. Quite a bit of discussion on this topic on previous threads.Have a 2013 3.8 sedan with 111000 miles. Do I need to service trans and rear end fluid?
Thanks,
Bob
Do a transmission fluid change (but dont flush it)Flush
Flush not recommended. Drain and service based on your model year. I had my initial drain and service(fill) at late 80k range. Check the owners manual. Lots of info on this topic. Read back thru previous threads. Hope this helps.Do a transmission fluid change (but dont flush it)

I’ve heard the same thing.Yeah sorry, I meant to respond and say that for my '13 I had a drain and fill done at 67k, and also a flash reset on the TCM. My trans still shifts weird occasionally but it's hell of a lot better than it was last year. I don't believe that there's an issue mechanically with the 8-speed Hyundai transmission, rather it's some sort of software issue that occurs. People have speculated on this site before that the solenoids aren't correctly timed or something.
According to the dealership technician where I purchased and had all of the service work done up to the 100K warranty, no flush suggested or required by the manufacture. Why isn’t it recommended to flush?

Some say flushing can force sediment back through the transmission?
Might be a good time for a “drain and fill” during your modification.I have a 2014 5.0 rspec with 54,890 miles. Should I consider atleast get some new trans fluid to replace some of the older fluid since I’m going to install an after market trans oil cooler ?
