  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Will a 2013 Equus transmission work in a 2012 5.0 R Spec ?

1st time I recall someone ask this question in 10+ years on this forum. While intra-platform parts bin shopping is not unheard of, your question is not a common one and this is not something people frequently do and document here. Folks tend to chime in when they have something positive to contribute (unlike me right now).

So I'll tell you what I think, not what I know. I think Hyundai uses most of the same drivetrain parts in both cars. I also think software/tuning might be different. So it might work, might not.

So go try it and report back with your result for the next person. Recommend you get the trans vendor to let you restock it (for a fee) if it doesn't work. Benefits them too in the long run.
