Jimmmmbo!
Been here awhile...
First off, please understand that this is not a post about the MPG resetting on refills or the time resetting after a few hours. I think that's been discussed ad nauseam here in previous posts.
I have a 2012 base 3.8L Genesis. In the last couple of weeks, all statistics on my IP computer have reset themselves to zero for no apparent reason. Battery connections are solid and other electronics like my radio stations are still correct.
The first time I noticed was when I had just refueled and I went to reset Trip A to zero myself as I always do, and noticed that it read only about 20 miles instead of the nearly 300 it should have read. Oddly, Trip B which I was using to track mileage on my winter tires (mentally counting 1000s since it rolls over) read the exact same value as Trip A. I reset Trip A and left Trip B alone.
Well, just yesterday I noticed that when I flipped to Trip A from the odometer that the trip miles didn't look right, reading about 6 miles. I flipped to Trip B and it again read the same value as Trip A, even though I haven't touched resetting Trip B. I also noticed that my MPG was way off from what it read the day before and was changing significantly every 10 secs or so like it does after a fillup. I don't park on a slope.
This seems to me that the whole trip computer system is resetting itself, although thankfully (or not
) the odometer retains its value.
Curious if anyone else has had this problem before I go and bitch at Hyundai about it ...
