Trunk beeps after closing

Hello to all,

I have an issue with my 2015 Genesis 3.8 Base. every time i close the trunk there is a beeping sound that last for about 10 seconds. It almost sounds like the alert we get when you walk away from the car with the key FOB. I have turned every trunk alert off from the settings to see if it would stop doing it but to my luck it still does it. If anyone has experience with this issue or knows what it could be please let me know. I have attached a picture of the setting with all trunk sounds off.

Could you have left one of your key fobs in the trunk somewhere? I think that causes the beep.

I do have an extra key FOB wrapped in foil paper. I will take it out and see what happens. Thanks

Please do not leave "hidden" keys in the car. Several years ago I placed a key under the rear floor mat (don't really know why I did this). Guy broke into my car and about a dozen others and took quite a few things including my key. I had to buy a steering wheel lock bar and had to use it constantly. The police nabbed him a few months later with my key in his pocket. Cop asked me what I was hoping to accomplish with a hidden key. Didn't have a great answer for him.

This was a great question. I was having the same problem, found your question and then read the replies. My extra key was in the car and that is what was causing the beeping. Great to have the answer and to know I don't need to take it in for service. Thanks!
