  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Today, on my 2016 Genny with 12200 miles on the clock, trunk would not open when I walked up with my fob. Usually opens with no problem. Opened door and hit trunk release button and nothing happens. Try a couple of times with no luck. Used "key" to open trunk and then checked trunk fuses, 2 of them in fuse panel located in right rear of trunk. They tested ok with meter.Everything else works fine. Doors open, lock etc etc. Car starts remotely with no problem. Seems trunk will not open with fob or the dash trunk release button. Is this a dealer visit problem or is it something easy that I am missing.

Possibly the "valet" button in the glove compartment?

I just did that to myself after stuffing too much stuff in the glove compartment and inadvertently pushing the button. When the trunk later refused to open, I suspected a valet lockout and checked the manual to locate the button. Other controls that accidentally get pushed are the mirror folding settings, the rear HVAC thumbwheels, and occasionally the parking proximity sensor.

I think there is a way to reset the trunk in the manual.

Works ok now. Found that stupid button in glove box. Must have hit it with one of the Hyundia books etc etc. Thanks for all the replies.

So you can lock the glove box and trunk if you use a valet. You proved it works.
