I think a fair, new concern with EV acceleration is that more people will be driving quickly-accelerating vehicles in the future.
Few ICE vehicles will deliver a sub five-second 0-60 time, but given the nature of EVs, many will likely have much sharper acceleration - and maybe that means we have more stoplight drag races or otherwise aggressive driving.
