  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi guys I'm new to the forum. I have a 2015 genesis 3.8 and the inner right turn signal/ reverse light is out but the break light works fine. Does anyone know if it could be a fuse or would I need to replace that whole unit thanks.

You should be able to replace the affected light bulbs assuming this is not an LED strip or an assembly? It’s doubtful it’s a fuse. Some rear lights are easier to remove than others so you may have to figure out what all holds the light housing in place to get it removed for bulb access.

If is LED, the whole unit is sealed and you need to remove trunk lining, connections, etc and replace entire assembly. I've done it! If you need to replace, I suggest looking on E-Bay, etc. for a salvage replacement unit. Generally from $100-150. New one is nearly $600.

Ouch. Pricey tail light. Should it be under warranty?

I was hoping I wouldn't have to replace the entire assembly. I'll check ebay to see what I can find. Thanks for the help

How did this workout for you? I'm going to take mine to the dealership on my extended warranty and see what they say.. mine works only when the trunk is open, but goes off when the trunk is closed..and only passenger side.. it may be time to see how good my extended warranty is..

I am having this issue. the driver side reverse light is out but its not broken. I took it out and plugged it into the passenger side and it works fine.
any kind of fuse issue or wiring issue? its as if the wiring just for the reverse (driver side) is bad or something<

Ideas?

on a 2015 Genesis Sedan ... does the inner brake / reverse LED assy just pull out / off ? Looking at pics online .... dont see any threads / studs

if the led light is good then the problem is probably the wiring harness. well known problem with a diy solution.
understood ... but need to get it off to troubleshoot and not sure how to remove

sounds like cbc1918 removed the light fixture. maybe he can provide some guidance how to remove it. or maybe you can troubleshoot it without removal by jumping the connection from the passenger side wire.
