Just bought a '14 Santa Fe Sport 2.0 T (264hp) and AWD. Maybe I should turn it into a Genesis like this?

But seriously, the Santa Fe is a wonderful vehicle. So far, only the electric steering seems less than great. So, my question is: Why hasn't Hyundai come out with a Genesis luxury version of the Santa Fe!? Get on the stick, Hyundai. This car is a poor man's Porsche Macan with some features better than the Macan.

How would you mod a new Santa Fe right now to turn it into a pseudo (wanna be) Genesis?

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
The "luxury" version of the Sante Fe is the 6 or 7 passenger version (long wheelbase) vs. the smaller sport with the turbo engine. The long wheelbase version fits in the middle of the previous gen Sante Fe and the Veracruz (since they no longer make the Veracruz).

Regarding the MOD question......Maybe throw some R Spec wheels on your Sante Fe if they fit? Not sure what wheel size the Sport uses, but I know the larger Sante Fe has 19" wheels available on the Limited model.

My Santa Fe Sport came with 19" wheels and Continental tires. Part of an upgrade package. As far as the larger Santa Fe being the luxury version, not everybody wants or needs 7 passenger, 3 row, seating.

My question related to Hyundai making a premium version of the Santa Fe under the Genesis banner. I imagine that one is coming someday but, until then, either version of the Santa Fe can be gussied up to play that role.

Congrats on "your" new vehicle Ernie! Wife will love to drive it :)

There is a Santa Fe forum (I'm still a member there) you might want to check it out for some useful info. http://www.hyundai-forums.com/santa-fe-forums-please-post-correct-sub-forum-year-your-vehicle/

btw.
I had a 2013 Sport 2.0T AWD as well but I didn't bother with anything on it, it just looked good as it was.
Now my Wife have a 2014 LWB 7 seater and we don't plan to change anything either...she won't let me :D

Thanks! Yes, someday I will give her a chance to drive and enjoy her new wheels. ,-)

Thanks too for the forum link!

As I said, the electric steering is my only complaint thus far. Other than that, I think the Santa Fe is head and shoulders above the new Lincoln MKC and, as I said earlier, it's a poor man's Porsche Macan in some respects. Both of those cars are just too small for many men, not to mention their limited cargo space.

what about the electric steering is objectionable?

what about the electric steering is objectionable?

Reviews of many cars with electric steering complain that it can be vague, numb and otherwise imprecise. My Genesis model has hydraulic steering and goes exactly where it is pointed. No need for ongoing corrections. The Santa Fe electric steering, unfortunately, it is not as precise. It does offer three modes, though (normal, comfort and sport). The Genesis electric steering has also been the target of some negative reviews.

hmm. next gen Genesis also has electric steering. wonder if this is endemic to hyundai electric steering in general, or a case of "not dialed in tightly enough" for the santa fe. was thinking i would be in the market for one of these in a few mos; will watch for if/when test drive happens.

The Santa Fe steering offers three settings. The SPORT setting is the most vague. Stick with the NORMAL, or COMFORT setting and you'll be happy. They are much better, even if not up to Genesis standards. Whoever named the SPORT setting in the Hyundai HQ needs to have his head examined.

Genesis badges on Santa Fe? ......NO!

As for the "SPORT" mode - well, I did set it in sport mode, the same day I've purchased the car, drove it 14 months and didn't touch it. Did the same thing in Wife's 2014 LWB and she loves it.

Not to mention, most of the guys on Santa Fe forum like that "sport" mode better than "comfort" or "normal".

Huh... I thought my R-Spec had electronic steering for the same reason. Steering is vague and numb.
