  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Turning Off engine by accident

After I got T-boned in my Bonneville I bought the GP and had too much work done on it, but I did get double the blue book value when I sold it.

REmember when with just the turn of a key the engine could be cut off.:)

kneeing your key to off position is not as easy as smacking a large center facing button.

Generally key location is off the beaten path.

Now knowing that one quick push of the button can turn the engine off at low speed, sometimes driving fast on the highway I have the sudden urge to test the Start/Stop button. I know I should not do it but my finger was tempted to do a quick jab at the button (:D kinda like Frodo's finger and the attraction of the Ring)

scottdk, that GP is sick!!! :)

Lol!:) I put a lot of money into this car:eek: But I was young and dumb......and well....you know the rest:)

18" wheels (OEM were 16")
paint
Powerstop drilled rotors
Stage 2 Jet chip
cold air intake
exhaust
tint
shaved trunk lock
rebuilt engine
rebuilt tranny (of course GM)
and the list could go on, and on.............................................................................................................................................................................................................

Anyone else have any experience with their Genesis shutting down at speed with a simple push of the start/stop button?

you can be the first, suggest to do it in neutral to save the engine/tranny.

Thanks for clearing that up. Lol :D

I might have to try it

I hope Hyundai put a fail safe in there somewhere, I'd hate to see a good car broken.
