  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
    If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Two Years of Ownership - The Good, Bad, Ugly & Pretty

I can relate - I did a 2000 mi trip over the holidays in my '15 5.0 Ultimate... It's just made for road tripping!

And after almost a year of owning it, I still turn around to look back at it in the driveway. Sure, it may "borrow" some styling cues but it's also it's own thing...
That's Awesome Skipgen, they really are nice cars. I have mine for 10 months now and Love the car! 👍

Same here; will be one year next month...it's been a great car;

Awesome list of potential replacements, you have there. Nice to see someone with truely good taste (Other than the Vette, but I'll always hate on them. It's a great value, I'm well aware, but in the end your in a "Supercar" with the interior out of any other class-losing GM product... I also hate that the C8 keeps the Corvette name but is now mid-engined. But that's neither here nor there and just my opinion, glad you loved it and glad to hear that it was a proper sports car with a manual!) At whatever time you decide to entertain your next step definitely let us know what your impressions are!

My Genesis is the only car I've owned that I'm just genuinely astounded at the value, engineering and build quality every single time I'm in it. I guess I've never known what it's like for a car to just feel special and not be able to put your finger on what makes you feel that way but this one does it for me. (For reference I've had an Isuzu Rodeo (5spd 4x4), Honda Prelude (auto), 325i (auto), G35 Coupe (6spd), Optima (loaded), Fusion (loaded), Grand Cherokee Summit, and now my 15 5.0 Ultimate.) Fingers crossed for no crazy issues for the next 4-5 years or so until I can get something newer (I'm hopefully moving to a Tesla Model S next) but it's the wife's turn first and she's set on an XC90 that I of course want almost completely decked out.

I wish we could convey this outside the Genesis community. Anything's better than what the Genesis marketing department is doing... And also can all the auto journalists stop listing "lacks brand cachet" as a negative every time they review any Genesis product...?

Thanks, man! The C6 was definitely lacking in comfort but I wasn't buying it to lounge it. What it lacked in feature, comfort, and plausibility, was made up by the speed, manual gear box, and how it made me feel. I get your distaste for it though; we all have one we just can't seem to like.

I actually drove the Stinger when it first hit showrooms late December 2018. It was the first one in western South Dakota. It was a Blue GT AWD. I drive with people in the car and make sure to have features that cater to their needs (host by default). The GT did not have much of anything. Heated front seats, bluetooth, backup camera, auto stop/start; that's about it. For a car listed at $44k, my money is not going there. It did, however, feel special when driving it. Very solid/rigid, properly quick, and felt good behind the wheel. I had been working with the salesman for about 6 months before it got to showrooms seeing what he knew and to let me know when they would be available. It's a contender in the "muscle car" company even if it has a V6. If I were to buy one, it would be a CPO car. I've read many things on the Stinger forums about quality control. I actually was comparing a Chevy SS during this same time and with the brief introduction with both cars, I preferred the Stinger in terms of speed and rigidness. Don't get your panties in a bunch 'cause I would never buy a Stinger over an SS if I had the chance. Only reason I would have the G80 Sport, S5, or Stinger first is because of the available AWD. Having multiple cars at one time is a hassle and a money pit unless they are collectors or you never drive the Z06. Pointless really; the car is meant to be driven.

I haven't driven the S5 yet but I've heard good things. For now, the Genesis is pleasing me in more ways than one and that's all I can ask for (patting myself on the back for the purchase).
