Ultimate navagation puzzle

On my old 2009 Tech, I could put a location in the address book such as "Oak Creek Cafe", press the voice command button, say "Navigate Oak Creek Cafe", and, voila, the destination would be set and I would be off.

In the Ultimate navigation manual, they recommend you put frequently used destinations in the address book, but I can't find a way to access them by voice as before. The only way I can use them is to list the address book on the screen and select the destination from the list by touch or by the DIS knob.

Am I missing something? I have read and reread the manual and muttered every variety of command I can think of without success.

I don't recall seeing anything about it when I skimmed the manual a few weeks ago. I'll play with mine and see if I can figure anything out. I sure hope they're not trying to push the google/bluelink thing by intentionally removing simple software features...

I posted this dilemma in a prior post and asked the same question. No answer. It’s a matter of “Key” words. That’s how the system knows the category of command about to be issued. For example in my 2011 it was “Navigate” that was the key word. Navigate Scott or navigate to Scott meant “Take me to Scotts house”. The name of course was the one given to the route in the address book which in this case was “Scott”. If you remember in the voice commands it listed a command as “Go Home” and "Go to Office" meaning take me to the entry designated as such in the address book. Which was in my 2011 Navigate Home. For that reason I think and I haven’t tried it yet the key word could be “Go” or "Go to" and the entry. I say this because there has to be one. So who ever has a chance to try it first name an entry with a simple name like “Joe” so as to keep the recognition as simple as possible and test it. (Go Joe or Go to Joe)

Good suggestion, but I just spent a little while out in the garage talking to "Genny." Like with most females in my life, the results were frustrating. I tried "Go XYZ" and "Go to XYZ" with several simple address book entries with no success. The only two such commands in the manual are "Go home" and "Go to office." I don't have office set, but "Go home" works each and every time.

A number of other commands work fine, so the system is working.

Pahaska: Like with most men in my life....it's probably your tone that is upsetting Genny. Trying saying it in a sweeter, less pushy tone and Genny is bound to cooperate. You know how sensitive we girls are! LOL....

I'll be curious how she responds to my sweet sound. haha

I’ve emailed a request for a more comprehensive voice command list to customer service but that was at least a week ago. So I don’t think that’s going anywhere. That seems to be such an obvious oversight. Like I said it just a matter of finding that appropriate keyword. The answer is out there somewhere. I’m confident we’ll find it eventually. Actually I’m quite surprised no one has mentioned it till now. All the other commands listed work fine.

On page 112 of the DIS Navigation System / Owner's Manual, it says that the command "Find Address" will find the address and set it as the destination. I haven't tried it yet.

I will say that I recently found that when I pressed the Google Voice Local Search button (second from left on rear-view mirror) and I said [whatever the command is, it may be Find??] and instead of a POI, e.g., The White House, I said an ADDRESS, e.g. 1313 Mockingbird Lane, Scarytown, it WORKED and this saved my having to input the whole address letter and number by letter and number. Note that this may not ALWAYS work and it doesn't seem to find some things well, e.g. Find Dr. so and so didn't work well.

All right. I tried to attach a pdf copy from the Owner's Manual I keep on my computer but it keeps printing sideways and backwards so ... Check your 2015 Hyundai Genesis Owner's Manual pages 102-111. Hope that helps.

All right. I tried to attach a pdf copy from the Owner's Manual I keep on my computer but it keeps printing sideways and backwards so ... Check your 2015 Hyundai Genesis Owner's Manual pages 102-111. Hope that helps.

??? I received 3 manuals: 1) the "2015 Owner's Manual", where there are no such pages. However, its pdf version pages 102-111 correspond to printed pages 3-8 to 3-17, and none of these are about voice commands.

2) "DIS Navigation System/QUICK REFERENCE GUIDE" -- has only 86 pages.
3) "DIS Navigation System / Owner's Manual", where voice commands are listed on pp 107-115. I presume this is the manual you mean. HOWEVER, I have been unable, after extensive searching, to locate any pdf versions of this manual. Where did you get yours?
