  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Ultra leather seats - "pilling"

As a "PS" -

It's not the stitching at all - it looks like the perforations on the leather were not "clean" and left "strings" od leather that work their way up. You can "brush" them away (down into the seat) but they come right back. It almost looks like a piece of cloth is missing under the leather that would stop the migration up if it is something under the seat. I really think it's caused by non-clean perfs.

UPDATE:

I just my Gen back today with a new passenger seat covering. It apparently was quickly approved by the regional manager, and replaced at no cost. So, if you have an issue, go to your dealer, (preferably with pictures), and you should get the same replacement.

It looks like a bad batch of leather got into the production line, and several have snuck into finished cars. Good to their word, they are taking care of them, apparently. The leather seat can be replaced quickly - it is the seating surfaces that just literally clip into the seat itself, and plug into the heater. The drivers side could be a bigger issue with the cooling - fortunately, mine was the passenger side only.

Well handled by Hyundai, IMHO. :D
