  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I bought a 22 GV80 brand new 3/22. In July of 23 I made 2 repair trips 70 miles from my home due to the AC not working. My vehicle was at dealership and was discovered the compressor was not working. My vehicle has been with said dealership since July 11 with weekly push back of new compressor arrival date. I have a case # with genesis, can rarely speak to the case manager and operator will not let you speak to anyone other than whose assigned, even though as the customer, I have the right to request to speak to someone else. They continue to read from their teleprompter without any resolution. Just be aware of what you're buying.

Agree. Sold our 2021. Why? One reason only. Service. We live 60 miles from the dealership. They still came and got it for the concierge service…as long as we had 6-8 weeks to wait for an appointment. No problem for routine maintenance. Then our whole entire entertainment system crashed. Nothing. No radio, no map, nada. Google suggested it might need an update by the dealer. Dealer had no idea; they’d never heard of our problem before. Eight weeks wait to have it fixed. Four weeks in, I decided you know what? We have to trade this in. What if something major happens, or more like what will be do WHEN something major happens? I will forever miss that car, but I know we made the right decision.

What did you get?

This forum should require entering VIN number (at least the last 8 digits) to authenticate real owners from pissed off dealers from another brand.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!

A fully loaded Wilderness Edition Subaru Outback, and cash back in our pocket lol. Don’t love i

Ha! Me? Trust me, I’m a former owner. Sorry for the incomplete post! We waited six months for it after ordering it. Bought it from NorthTown in Western NY. Our first sign something wasn’t going to go well was when we went to pick it up. They washed and prepared the wrong car. They paid for us to go have lunch while we waited even longer. I truly loved that car. Drove like a dream. Luxury car to Subaru? The Genesis was a splurge. It was the first car in my 50 years that I custom ordered. I intended to have it for a long time. Our son lives in the mountains so a Subaru makes more sense for us. What my post was supposed to go on and say is that I hate it. I’m on the verge of trading again every time I get in it.

Unfortunately unacceptable is normal service at most Genesis dealers

What gives with Genesis? Percentage of complainers not high enough? Not enough failures to become a cost issue for them? The cars are a pleasure to drive but if there is no way to adequately service them, no one is going to purchase them.

Fortunately, there are a few good dealers. Not enough of them, especially for a top end car.

It is going to take years to finally get the stand alone dealers needed and even then, not enough auto techs in the industry for any brand. Will not be easy to fill the spots.

No, not you. I see you have been a member since 2021, although you haven't been all that active that this is your first post.
The OP on the other hand...I don't know.
There are certainly quite a few fake owners posting fake posts aimed at harming the Genesis brand.
Usually they make some baseless complaint and don't give any specific detail or anything verifiable.
As for me, I am a proud owner who loves the car, but hates the dealers at the same time.
Because their sole intent is to get more money out of your pocket either by helping you or screwing you and the latter is more prevalent because that's simply easier/cheaper than the former.
As much as I hate the dealers, it bothers me to see the fake owners spreading fake stories and concerns.
There are plenty of such posts in this forum.

Genesis takes customer orders?
In Korea where they have factories and they sell directly to customers without any dealers in between so yes absoultely.
But anywhere else outside Korea?
First time hearing that.
What did you customize?
Can anyone verify this?

A person whose username is "lovemygenesis!" whose very first post on this board is about why he/she sold off their Genesis. Certainly not strange or suspicious in any way....

Unfortunately this is what happens when communities are not very active and trolls are able to make multiple duplicate accounts without any sort of consequences.

Let's wait and see how he managed to place a 'custom order' for a Genesis.

I own a 2021 GV80 Prestige 3.5T, it arrived at dealership approximately Dec 12/2020, I ordered the vehicle about 11 months earlier. Before the GV80 was manufactured I ordered a Uyuni White with Dune Beige interior, and it came that way. Dealers in Canada can not stock any Genesis vehicles, when a dealer sells a GV80 or any other Genesis, it comes from Genesis Canada inventory, or if not it stock, the dealers place an order and Genesis Canada brings in that vehicle. BUT dealers can NOT order inventory for stock, but can get demos and show room vehicles .My dealer London Genesis probably has 3-4 new showroom vehicles on the floor and maybe 15 or more various Genesis vehicles for customer services loaners and demos.
Again the Suggested List Price you see on the Genesis site is exactly what you pay, NO discounts and NO dealer markups.
The owner of the Genesis dealership also owns the Hyundai dealership right beside Genesis and MB dealership across the street. He also owns a few other brands around the city.
Their service is first rate and London Genesis knows how to treat their customers. Sorry to read about some service problems south of the border.

Before my gv80 purchase (Nov. 22) I requested a custom order from my dealer...his response was "no can do" and furthermore... whatever comes in from Genesis...that will be the only choice that would be available for purchase! But I did luck out when the color I wanted showed up a few days later on the lot.

My local dealer told me they could ask for a certain color-trim combination from Hyundai/Genesis and place an order for it.
It does not cost anyone any extra from the MSRP because that's just choosing from all of the variants the manufacturer is already producing for a given market.
Say, you have 5 different exterior colors, 2 different interior colors and 3 different option packages, then you have 30 different variants to choose from.
Asking dealer to get any one of those variants (however you want to call it) is not considered custom order and it does not cost any extra.

I should have known better when lovemygenesis! said he custom ordered a Genesis then traded it for a Subaru, he'd never owned a Genesis.
