  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Unbelievable

"I guess if you hired low skill workers who's English wasn't so hot"

Bingo

UPDATE: they are paying for my wheels :) They don't however know what was put on the wheels to cause that type of damage.

Are they paying for new wheels, or to have them repainted or repaired? Are they paying for the tires too?

yup, brand new wheels. The tires seem to be comming back to life so I did not push that issue

Glad everything worked out for you. But why is this in the coupe section?

million dollar question! It was moved and placed here by accident

Update: The detail place called me yesterday and asked if they could re-paint and re-finish the wheels. WTF, they jsut told me they would replace them the day before. So I said re-painting is not an option and they need to replace the wheels. I can see me a year now from now having problems and getting the finger pointing game, not to mention re-painted wheels could potentially lessen the value of the car. If the car was a few years old maybe, but not a brand new car with 3k miles on it. They said they would get back to me today. This WILL be there last chance!! If they do not repalce it is off to small claims court. Where they will loose since they have already admitted it was thier fault and they are just trying to get out of it has cheap as possible.

The saga continues. Stay tuned.

It's not totally out of the realm of acceptability since the rims don't have any dents or metal damage. I hear what you are saying. My Gen has 1600 miles on it and I would be horrified. Not sure what the laws are in your state, but it may be time to find out.

I had similar stains show up on my last car (Subaru WRX). The wheels had the same color finish to them as the Genny. I went to Tampa on business and after I got home I noticed the dark spatter marks. I took out the hose and some soap but no luck. It never came off and it wasn't until I had the rims repainted that I finally felt better! The repaint actually turned out very well and they still look great 6 years later (my wife currently drives the Suby). So if you have to settle for repaint, (as long as it is done right), it should not be a problem. I hope they do the right thing and get you new ones.

We have a conclusion!! The detail shop is cutting Hyundai a check to put on four new wheels this Friday. I ended up given the detail store the old ones. I guess a little "power of nice" paid off this time.

That's a good story! For future reference, what do 4 wheels cost?

Four wheels mounted and balanced = $1,800.00

The saga is over. 4 new wheels put on last Friday. I feel complete again :)

Should we look for them on eBay in an effort to recoup some of their lost cost? :D

Bingo! I gave them the old wheels. Not sure what they are going to do with them.

Lesson learned by all. Glad you got the result you wanted with nothing more than a little aggrevation! Hope you found yourself a new detail shop!

Nice. Everyone is human and makes mistakes... I can deal with that so long as they make it right.

Glad it ended well for you.
