  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So mine fell off half way and ripped. I was wonder if theres a thread already explaining whats all the hardware. A shop told me its 5 steel screws. And I keep reading online that its the black plastic top cap screws. Anyone know the real answer. I tried looking up a video on youtube on how to install and what screws and hardware I need. Also missing the front under cover that has the panel u remove to get to the oil filter. I believe that one is called a splash shield or front under cover. Not sure. If anyone knows the hardware for both please help me! And also if anyone has a video or link me a video on how to install both . And do both get attached to each other and overlap . Holding both together with screws. or they are on separately. Already ordered the back one thats bigger. Just need the screws or link. Thanks fam!

Oh, so you also have the 2nd missing? I've only removed the front one, to do an oil change. Forgot how many bolts, but I'm almost sure they were more than 5: I'd say 7 or 9, since I remember it was an odd number for sure. Plus 2 push-pins or maybe 4, but at least 2. I'd check oil change videos, and hopefully somebody mentions exactly how many. As far as I remember, the 2 panels don't touch each other at all. The front panel has a permanent central plastic screw (it stays in place) that you get going first, then start with a rear bolt to hold it in place. Then finish up.
The mid transmission cover looked small for what I remember, and I'm pretty sure held just by metal bolts, but didn't scrutinize it, to tell you how many. Maybe 4? You could always get your car on ramps, and count the threaded holes for bolts, and the non-threaded ones for push-pins. Hope this helps.

Ya they said the back big one needs to be removed to drain the oil. But u are saying u only tool the small front one off to do an oil change. So now im curious, which one is really needed to get removed in order to drain the oil pan lol and if you know the part numbers for the steel bolts and pish pins id appreciate it. Also do the steel bolts have washers I have to buy also

The second panel towards the rear needs to be removed to drain the oil from the pan, the front has an access panel for removing the oil filter.

5 or 6 seems about right for the panel. I've been looking for the front one as I accidently ran over a deer and bashed it up badly. Tried to order one but after 3 months they just cancelled it. Places want about $300 for the panel and $200 to ship. Hope the rear one is easier to find. If you go to somewhere like CarID they have schematics and you can find the part number and quantity.

I'm not sure exactly how the panel for the G70 is anymore, since I could be confusing 2 of them (changed the oil on both my '22 SF and '23 G70 back to back several months ago). But I never remove the small panels; always the big one, to check everything for leaks, etc. I'm almost sure both vehiles had just one large panel, and both also have a smaller one below the transmission. But next time I get under my G70 will scrutinize both, and report back if still needed.

Thanks for the info tho man. I appreciate you. How do I PM people on here? Or is that feature not available

I use sites like this to see what parts are what.

The splash guard for my SHO shipped with mounting hardware so maybe the same for yours?
