Unintended acceleration genesis coupe 3.8

Hey guys! Looking to get different opinions on this situation. I own a 2016 genesis coupe 3.8 that has been having unintended acceleration issues for the past year and a half. When it occurs, it’s almost as if the cruise control is on and stuck. The car accelerates on its own without your foot being on the pedal. I have 56,000 miles and it started occurring around 35,000 miles. Have taken it to the dealer multiple times and turned away saying they can not duplicate the problem so there’s nothing to fix. What could possibly be causing this issue? Many people this has happened to say it has resulted in a crash.

Many people? Where are you hearing/reading these stories? I haven't seen anything like that on this forum, but maybe there is another I haven't seen.
The only time I have had a similar thing happen was when I accidentally set the cruise control set point really high (I held the toggle switch up for too long and didn't notice) and when the car in front of me moved out of my lane, the adaptive cruise control sped the car up to way faster than I expected. Now I pay more attention when I adjust the speed setting.
