2023 GV70 2.5T Prestige
Word of warning for anyone considering the Uniroyal.
Bought this tire for my aftermarket 21 x 9 wheels because I was after comfort and low noise, and reviews suggested this was the one. I am now on my 2nd set after Michelin (owns Uniroyal) replaced the first set with only 200 kms on them because a drone at just about any speed, but specifically noticeable at certain speeds. 2nd set comes in, and same drone.
Spoke to a supervisor at Michelin, and he admitted that occasionally, the have situations with one model tire and the frequencies it puts off, simply doesn't work with certain vehicles, and creates excessive noise. While I did upsize to a 265/40/21 from 255/40/21, he did not think that would be the issue. It's the tread pattern and the make up of the tire.
They are reimbursing the cost towards another brand because they have nothing to offer that meets same criteria.
Sucks though because I had to pay install and taxes for 2nd set, and will have to pay taxes on the 3rd set.
I will be going with the Conti Extreme Contact DWS06 Plus. May not be as smooth as Uniroyal, but hopefully the drone will be gone.
