  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I posted a thread with pictures of my Genesis with tech pack a month after I got it (bought it back in August of 2008). Back then I only had 15% tints done and 20' rims.

Since then i've done some upgrades...

I bought the Genesis when it first came out ( one of the first to buy a Genesis straight out :) ) so unfortunately I didn't get the v8  I just couldn't wait. So besides the rims and tints I put on the chrome side door moldings, the chrome door pillars, there's also a clear bra on there that no one notices :), and the badges on the front and rear.

Not too bad..

I posted these pics now cause next week I will be upgrading even further..
I will be putting 22"rims on her, the Porsche style exhaust tips, MAYBE the side skirts, and I will be painting the break calipers either lime green, a sick blue, or purple. To me red is too plain and I need to show off lol. My friend at work is trying to talk me into putting the Lamborghini doors on but I think that MAY be over doing it. I want to keep it as classy as possible but it is intriguing. I haven't decided yet.

Only other trouble I'm having is what rims I wanna put on. More than likely they'll be 22" rims with a FAT lip. I have to figure out where I wanna go with it tho. If I wanna do the classy and flashy chrome rims or black w/ or w/o a chrome lip. I kinda feel like doing something crazy by putting on some colored rims. Something with some green, blue, yellow, or red. Whichever I do i'll put matching colored break calipers. Whatever I do can work either way. Since my cars paid off I may paint my car black in 2 years and throw on the black grill. So many options..

Any thoughts??

Jenny looks great! I love the wheels! More sporty than luxurious but the Genesis Sedan is a luxury sport. :) Ahh.. Not crazy about Lamborghini doors - not on the Genesis - but that's your call. If I were you, I really wouldn't spend any more money on it. It really looks great...

I think it looks pretty good as is.

I think you have to thread a fine line though and keep yourself from adding too much chrome and addon crap to the car as it will turn from classy to ghetto. Just because parts are out there doesn't necessarily mean you need to add all of them to your car.

did u add TPMS air stems to your wheels or do u get a wraning light that flashes on your dash

That looks very nice with the matching chrome wheels and moldings. The tinted windows look great! That's pretty much what I envisioned a totally decked out gray Jenny would look like done right. I will chime in with Hyundai Genesis who suggests that you have done it all with out over doing it, you might want to leave her just as she is, or what the hell go crazy it's your baby :)

Yes I did add the TPMS air stems to the wheels.

I opted for the black tints instead of the metallic look. Black tints seems more mature than getting the metallic tints. Sometimes when I look at my car the rims look small to me. I first noticed walking out of Wal-mart. From a distance the 20" looked small and as I got closer they looked even smaller. Most people with a BMW 7, Mercedes S, or LS' have 22" rims on their ride. The Genesis is a mid size car with the body of the elite large vehicles so it's only right I throw on the 22". If nothing else I will at least go 22". If it works out the 20" may be my new winter wheels and will go in storage with the stock wheels, if not I can always go back down to 20" but I have a feeling 22" will be just right.

And a plus is that since I got black tints, the door is always open if I wanna do black rims or a black and chrome pattern set.

so since yoiu did get the TPMS air stems installed on your 20's did u have to go back to the dealer to get them to reset the car so that it would read the new tires on your car & if so did they charge you for that

I have to admit that those wheels look great, not because they are 20 inch, but because I like the five spoke style. (Although they look great, I'm not about to remove the 18 inchers I presently have).

The V8's (and perhaps the V6's) already have a tendency to have a stiff (read hard) ride, and when you install 20 or 22 inch rims, (that weigh more than the stock 18 [or 17] inchers) you get more unsprung weight, which causes even a more harder ride.

In addition, with the 20 ro 22 inch rims, the tires have to have a much smaller depth to width ratio in order to fit inside the fenders and keep the same diameter as the stock. This also causes the ride to be even harder. (Less flex).

Yours look great though.

I think the 19-20 inch rims are the sweet spot of looking cool.

With all due respect, I think 22s look pretty silly and definitely cross over into "too much bling" territory.

Do what you like, of course. But I think your 20s are good enough.

I bought a second set of TPMS sensors for my winter wheels, and the car sensed the changeover automatically (twice). The tire guy was impressed and told me that various Benz' and Lexus' act up and require a trip to the dealer to reset.
