If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I am by no means an audiophile, but I love a good stereo. Many people, me included, were let down by the G70’s audio quality despite the specs (I have the 15 speaker, lexicon system). Last week I update my ‘20 with the latest software via the SD card. Audio quality sounds a bit better to me. All my settings stayed the same. Speaker placement is not optimal, but it is great to hear they are addressing this somehow (no pun intended).

Did anyone else notice this?

I did, I believe, an audio update last month on my 2023 G70 but the audio quality with the radio is just as poor as before. What I did to improve my listening pleasure, because like you, I love a good stereo. I subscribed to Apple Music which is a higher quality stream than the radio or even satellite radio has. Lossless audio. The quality of music is way better. I love listening now. You should try it. I only listen to my several Apple Music custom Playlists. Oh, and with Apple Music you can use your G70's audio systems Quantum Logic (if your model has it) settings which can't be used with the radio.

Good to know Genesis is still improving the G70, and others hear it too.

Those are good recommendations to maximize audio quality. I’ve been using car play and Apple Music exclusively since I subscribed close to 8 years ago. Pure luck that combo turned out to be the best. I don’t mess with the settings much anymore. I’ve found defaults provide the most balanced audio. Sometimes I’ll switch on Clari-Fi, which is for compressed audio, but Lossless audio already fixes that. Between my car, loaners and other owner’s experiences, I haven’t found a use for Quantum Logic. On stage and Audience modes just mess up the sound, so I leave it in reference. Have you found a good application for QLS?

Well, my ears might hear differently (LOL) but I found using the On Stage or Audience modes sound best. I'm not sure which I'm using now, but I'll check. Honestly, I'm more of a shot-in-the-dark audio guy, with so-so expertise. I rely on recommendations by those who are more informed, which is how I discovered how much better the sound system is with Apple Music through CarPlay.

I may have tried the Reference setting. Not sure. I might try it (again) and compare it to both On Stage mode and Audience mode.

I just noticed for the first time that the audio systems can now be used with the radio. Maybe it was part of the update, it helps alot by having the back speakers kick in.

FM radio or Sirius/XM radio? Or both? I don't use either, so it doesn't matter to me, but I'll have to check FM when I get a chance. I have the newest audio update.

Interesting thread in that my 2024 just did an over the air update the other day. The system tells you what is new and said nothing about the sound system. But when it came back on (I was driving the car when the update happened) I immediately thought the system was much clearer and bass was improved.

My old ears are not the best, and i could be wrong. I even looked to see if my sound settings maybe had reset themselves, but they had not.

I am retired audio engineer and when I found insufficient with the current premium stereo in the G70 is the deep bottom end so I put a jail audio 500 watt sub amp and a 12-in JLW62 speaker with cabinet in the trunk. Like fuel pump control module keeps blowing out and the dealership keeps blaming the sub amp.

Does anyone have a subsystem in their G70 and are they having any problems with the rest of the card due to its existence? I need responses. Thank you

Install an LC2i Pro and get the remote from the audio signal. The LOC device will prevent bass roll off and you won't be using your fuel pump power for remote.

I'm not using the fuel pump power for remote. There is a high level to RCA adapter module tapped into the subfeed speaker wires. Power from the subwoofer power amp comes directly from the battery via a one ferret power capacitor. The on off function is coming from a tap on the fuse box.

Fuse box in the back where the fuel pump power is supplied???? Unless you ran a wire from the dash board fuse box? Which is just a waste and doesn't make sense.

That's why I say get the remote on/off power signal from somewhere else. Your RCA converter should have a remote signal feed from the audio signal to the speakers.

What brand RCA adapter? At around 20 volume the Lexicon system has bass roll off (where the bass voltage actually plateaus and even decreases at higher volumes). You need an LOC like an LC2i Pro to mitigate that.

Where tapping into the fuse box for on/off shouldn't cause an issue, back fed power could. Or you're not getting enough amperage to properly supply the fuel pump.
