  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. I'm moving this topic into our first generation Genesis Sedan section...

Nav system is wholly unrelated to door locks, if you have an issue it's with the locks or with the security module.

I just can't get the "black" color scheme to activate...

There's a dark mode? Is that in the updated setup area? Also in another thread you mentioned stopping the mirrors from dipping when going to reverse - where is this setting?

For the mirrors, just deselect whatever mirror you have activated. With both mirrors deselected, the mirrors will not go down.

Use the settings with the button on the right side of the steering wheel to find the mirror setting. I forget exactly where, but take a few minutes to go through them all and you may find things you'd like to change.

Black mode is in the nav setting.

Thanks EdP. Was that always there or was that part of the update? I've been through the steering wheel settings a bunch and don't recall seeing that before. I'm going to go check it out right now!

Hmm. just looked in the manual and found this. It is on the arm rest buttons, not the settings.

Reverse parking aid function
(if equipped)
When you move the shift lever to the
R (Reverse) position, the side view
mirror(s) will rotate downwards to aid
with driving in reverse. The position
of the side view mirror switch (1)
determines whether or not the mirrors
will move:
Left/Right : When either the L (Left)
or R (Right) switch is
selected, both side view
mirrors will move.
Neutral : When neither switch is
selected, the side view mirrors
will not move.
The side view mirrors will automatically
revert to their original positions
if any of the following occur:
• The Engine Start/Stop button is
pressed to either the OFF position
or the ACC position.
• The shift lever is moved to any
position except R (Reverse).
• The remote control side view mirror
switch is not selected.

Yeah... found the mirror thing in the manual. The mirror switch on the door has to be in the "neutral" position - i.e. neither mirror selected. Didn't know it was in the "steering wheel" menu as well.

I'll check for "black" in the NAV menu again in the AM - I think it was greyed out yesterday right after I made the update.
