  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Today I replaced my OEM brake lines with SS braided lines, both front and rear. I went with StopTech instead of Goodridge due to the cost difference. $94 vs $175+.
The difference in brake pedal feel is quite a bit better than stock. Pedal travel has been improved somewhat also. In general the upgrade was well worth the money and time. I like the overall feel and ability smoothly modulate the brake pressure. I still think the brakes lack bite, but that will be fixed when I upgrade the pads.

StopTech Rear PN: 950.51502
$45
StopTech Front PN:950.51002
$49

I installed the Goodridge lines along with a set of Hawk HPS pads, slotted rotors and Motul 600 brake fluid a few weeks ago. The overall setup feels great but the OEM pads have a lot more initial bight while the Hawk pads are more even throughout the pedal range so you'll have more stopping power than stock but require more pedal pressure than stock.

I have used the Hawk HPS several times on two different cars, I remember them having much more bite than OEM. Even if it is different on the Genesis, I will gladly trade a bit of pedal for pads that hold up to heat and don't leave uneven deposits all over my rotors.
Which rotors did you go with?

Rotors are Power Sport slotted but not drilled. They also offer drilled or combo rotors. These give additional bite without any cracking issues that can afflict drilled rotors.

I have been thru many sets of slotted, cross drilled, and slotted & drilled rotors on previous cars. I have managed to crack every single type, including solid. My experience has led me to stick with high quality solid rotors. I will never again have drilled rotors. I do like slotted rotors, but they really eat up pads and help make lots of dust.
I am interested to hear your medium to long term experience with slotted rotors and the Hawk pads. That is a combination I have never used. If I can find them I will post some pictures of my split rotors.
