  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So...let's take a Poll to see what (if anything) will be available on Aug 1, 2018.

Just something to keep us going :)

You should add No INFO AT ALL as a fourth option.

I notice you have no vote for "no information". Do we have some confidence from a reliable source that "something" will be shared with us tomorrow?

Review my post (G70 US Availability) today to shed some additional information on the status of Genesis and the G70.

Well after 62% of us (me included) predicted NOTHING came out from Genesis USA today. The waiting continues. IMHO Genesis USA is wasting one of a heck good opportunity to get this brand up and running. Having the 2019 G70 for more than 8 months in advance and not selling it in USA is absurd. Whatever reason they had is not justifiable. This is a huge fiasco from their part.
At this time of the year almost all other brands started selling 2019 model cars taking hundreds if not thousands of new buyers away from Genesis. Bad thing.

Utter idiots. Losing respect for the brand by the second.

Agreed this was a huge miss. Having a 2019 available before everyone else would have helped garner attention. Instead it will likely get lost in the mix of all the other new 2019's.

Reviews have generally all been positive, they just really needed the car available...

The only thing that could make matters worse is if they tack some sort of premium onto the price at release. They might have gotten away with that if they'd released the car back in March or April. But now, there are lots of deals to be had on new, remaining 2018 models of other brands. If Genesis does that, they'll just be driving (no pun intended) more customers off of their lots and over to their competitors'. If the car is released in, say September, and prices are jacked up for a few months, then prudent buyers wouldn't want to make a purchase before November or December. And that's not prime car-buying season by any means.

Pricing premiums may be more up to the dealers than Genesis central. But either way, I think it would be a really bad move. For one thing, it smacks of opportunism and more sophisticated buyers (presumably, the target market) will recognize that. Maybe Corporate can impress upon dealers that that's not the sort of shenanigans they consider part of the premium image they want to cultivate for the brand.

Hopefully, those in charge will recognize that the delays and missteps have been a problem and recognize that they need to smooth the path a bit for potential buyers if they're to convince them to whip out their checkbooks. We'll see.

Dealerships around me already have premiums on the G80 Sport because of the rarity of Genesis dealerships, the G80 Sport being new, and the lack of supply with very little shipments by Genesis. I'm pretty confident that the G70 will have a high initial dealership premium. I'll have to fight hard to get the price lower...
