I will ask...even if I have to pay for it that’s a great ideaSee if you can find a way to add a second data enabled one in the arm rest
It is a great idea, but one that I don't think Genesis will support. They pay a license fee to Apple based upon the number of connections supporting and displaying CarPlay. Even though you wouldn't be able to (and probably don't intend to) use multiple phones at once, it would result in added fees to Apple.I will ask...even if I have to pay for it that’s a great idea
Yeah I’ve tried multiple phones with both 12 & 13 iOS and 3 different cables as well using each phone. I took the car in to the dealer yesterday (still waiting to hear back from them) but when I plugged my phone, using the cable I always use in my car, into the loaner CarPlay came up right away. Tested it with my wife’s phone, which wasn’t even registering in my car, and hers was an instant-connect too so I know TI can’t be the phone. It is definitely something on the carIt is a great idea, but one that I don't think Genesis will support. OP -- I assume you've been experimenting with different phones, different iOS installations, and different lightning cables on the front USB port? There are reports of the screen going black with certain phones (not sure why) and the cables have to meet certain specifications to support CarPlay.
