  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Anyone found a solution to keeping a USB stick / Drive from getting knocked loose from items in the center console? I hate having to cycle thru my USB drive to find the folder I was last listening to because my wallet or other items bump into the USB stick. Seems like the USB / IPOD cover should have been turned the other direction to keep it more secure. Anyhow I might just be nit picking on this but on my 2012 Sonata it's seems more secure. Also I have a 2013 base model and noticed some Genny's have 2 center console doors, one has a slot like hole to run a charger to the 9v but my arm rest is just one piece. Is this something Hyundai did away with on the new models?

For the usb stick grab yourself a usb extention cable and just lay it on the bottom. As for two doors i have a 2013 r spec it has the doors you are talking about.

Might have to try the extension.

Glad to help hope it works out.

I agree about the extension, but what the heck do you have in there? My console is full of stuff too, but the USB stick has never been dislodged in over 4 years.

I assume you're using a full size USB stick. Just get yourself [ame="http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Cruzer-Low-Profile-Drive--SDCZ33-032G-B35/dp/B00812F7O8/"]one of these[/ame]. I have to really struggle when taking it out to add songs - it definitely won't be knocked out by accident.

I use a micro usb 16 gig 3000 songs.

I do use a micro usb maybe its the USB stick that does not fit snug as cheap as the USB sticks are I might just try another brand. I usually carry my wallet in there and a few other items. Sometime when I open the compartment and simply drop my wallet it makes contact with the USB stick.

Now that might work as its smaller than even a micro. Anyone know the MAX gigs you can use on a stick? I am using a 16gb right now.

I filled up my 16G, and replaced it with a 64G. Works fine.

I use a 64G USB stick in my R-Spec. It's currently got approx 40G of MP3s on it, which is 5,842 tunes. It works flawlessly. The only downside is that it takes a L-O-N-G time for the Gracenote music service to re-index the contents after I remove the stick to add MP3s to it and then put it back in.

According to the DIS manual there are some limits to how much can be stored on the USB stick:
  • Maximum directory layers : 20 layers
  • Maximum length of folder name/file name : 255Bytes
  • Supported characters for folder name/file name :
Alphanumeric characters, Korean standard character set
2350 characters, Simplified Chinese 4888 characters
  • Maximum number of folders which can be stored onto
one USB : 2000 folders (including ROOT)
  • Maximum number of files which can be stored onto one
    USB : 8000

I use my android phone with a 32gb sd card. I either stream with bt or play directly through usb charging cable

Perfect even a 32gb is good enough for me I still have room even in my 16gb
